Growing number of immigrants are deciding to leave Canada. Why?
Canada has long billed itself as a promised land for immigrants from other countries. But a new report says for more and more new arrivals, that promise isn't being held up and they're moving on.
It finds the number of immigrants leaving surged between 2017 and 2019, and has yet to stabilize.
The reasons are not surprising: from housing affordability and inflation to healthcare challenges and fair credential recognition.

Why The U.S. Won’t Put Immigrants To Work
In 1986, Congress passed the Immigration Reform and Control Act, which made it extremely difficult to hire people to work without authorization in the U.S. Today the U.S. has more than 9 million open roles and only 5.8 million job seekers, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Meanwhile, millions of people are in limbo, waiting to immigrate to the U.S. and even more are likely to come as climate change drives more people to migrate. While immigration alone is unlikely to fix the worker shortage, many advocates think it could help alleviate the labor crisis.

NYC migrant crisis: Illegal immigrants housing bust, Mayor calls 'doom city' | LiveNOW from FOX
FOX 5 reports two illegal NYC migrant shelters housing dozens of illegal people were caught by NYPD in the span of two days. Mayor Eric Adams said, "You place one-thousand people in one setting and tell them they can't work, all they can do is sit around all day, tempers flare." More than 50 migrants were found illegally housed inside an overcrowded two-story building. Officials raided the building and NYC Dept. of Buildings issued a vacate order.
